About

Landed Entertainments is an independent narrative film & shorts studio based in Toronto. Founder Ali Mashayekhi started the company in 2003 and has been at the helm ever since — building a portfolio that spans horror, drama, comedy and documentary, festivaled across three continents.

We make films, television and music videos across North America, Asia and Europe, and we're currently active in Canada, the US, South Korea, Japan and Iran. Over two decades we've grown an extensive network of end-to-end resources — from development through theatrical and streaming distribution.

A short history

  1. 2003 Ali Mashayekhi founds Landed Entertainments in Toronto.
  2. Early years The first festival-circuit short films travel internationally.
  3. Festival run Merging with the Infinite, Liminal and One in Two People hit festival circuits.
  4. Television Evolving Vegan, the vegan travel-food series, expands to international broadcast.
  5. 2024 The Killgrin opens theatrically through Dark Sky Films — premiering alongside The Last King and Spaceman within one calendar year.
  6. Now A new slate of features in development across Los Angeles, Seoul and Tokyo.
